PALLAVI PRIYADARSHINI never imagined she would find a career in early childhood education so rewarding. Born in India where she earned a degree in economics, she has been living in the Erie area for the last 10 years. Since 2017, Pallavi has been working at a family-operated daycare center in a townhome community. There, she cares for children aged 2-5 years old whom she says lift her to be her best.
Pallavi is not new to challenges and the motivation required to overcome them. A speaker of three languages and a mother herself, she learned about the PDO-sponsored educational opportunity through her daycare center director. With her earned CDA now under her belt, Pallavi is now studying to earn her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood from Edinboro University (where she also earned the CDA).
“The support offered by the PDO has helped me to excel,” she added. “The flexible online environment makes it very easy to balance home, work, and school.”
“Anyone who is considering this educational opportunity should take advantage of it while it is available,” she said, adding, “we are so fortunate to be able to get the CDA and degrees without cost.” While a bachelor’s degree is still in the future for her, Pallavi said it is not out of the question. “I love to learn and to teach children. They motivate me every day!” Congratulations to Pallavi Priyadarshini for her achievements as she continues to advance her professional development career pathway with PDO support!
